14 July 2015, Semarang – Central Java Provincial Government plans to give award to companies that implement good CSR to support provincial government development priorities. The award is a voluntary basis that is applied by the implementing companies through an online system to avoid collusion and at the same build reputation of the award. Tuesday, 14/07 BAPPEDA Central Java Province conducted a Focussed Group Discussion as initial step to start this initiative with the support of PAKLIM. The FGD is to set up an implementing guideline to ensure smooth CSR award implementation. CSR award implementing guideline has been drafted based on several researched conducted by PAKLIM. Participated in the discussion among others were representative of CSR KESOS Forum, local CSR magazine, and relevant governmental agencies. Three topics were discussed namely what kind of CSR should be appreciated, steps and mechanism of application, and who to organize the award. The secretary of CSR KESOS Forum, Bambang Supartoko expected that the award not only a ceremonial but can also give direct benefit to implementing companies. In responding this expectation, Central Java Provincial Government will focus on non-economic incentive in the early stage. In the later stage, further incentive will be considered based on evaluation. Most of participants were enthusiastic to give input to the guideline. The second round discussion will be conducted in August 2015 to explore more detail steps and mechanism of application. After the guideline more or less fixed, a website as platform for CSR award application will be developed and tested before further launched.
